Day-by-day itinerary
Day 1Day 1: Delhi to Narkanda (420 km, 9-10 hrs) - Early pickup from Delhi airport/railway station, scenic drive past Shimla to apple-country Narkanda. Dinner and overnight.
Day 2Day 2: Narkanda to Sangla (160 km) - Drive along the Sutlej through Rampur and the Kinnaur Gate into the lush Baspa valley. Overnight in Sangla.
Day 3Day 3: Sangla - Chitkul - Kalpa (95 km) - Morning excursion to Chitkul, India's last village near Tibet, then on to Kalpa for Kinner Kailash views. Overnight Kalpa.
Day 4Day 4: Kalpa - Nako - Tabo (200 km) - Past Khab confluence to Nako Lake and village, then into Spiti to 1,000-year-old Tabo Monastery. Overnight in Tabo.
Day 5Day 5: Tabo - Dhankar - Kaza (120 km) - Visit clifftop Dhankar Monastery and fort with views of the Spiti-Pin confluence, then check in at Kaza for 3 nights.
Day 6Day 6: Kaza sightseeing - Iconic Key Monastery, high village Kibber and Chicham Bridge, one of Asia's highest suspension bridges. Overnight in Kaza.
Day 7Day 7: Langza - Hikkim - Komic circuit - Fossil village Langza and its Buddha statue, the world's highest post office at Hikkim and Komic monastery. Overnight Kaza.
Day 8Day 8: Kaza to Chandratal (120 km) - Via Losar and Kunzum Pass (15,060 ft) to the crescent-shaped Chandratal Lake. Night in deluxe camps under the stars.
Day 9Day 9: Chandratal to Manali (130 km) - Sunrise at the lake, then via Batal, Gramphu and the Atal Tunnel/Rohtang to Manali. Evening free on Mall Road. Overnight Manali.
Day 10Day 10: Manali to Delhi (530 km, 10-11 hrs) - Breakfast and drive back to Delhi via Kullu, Mandi and Chandigarh. Drop at Delhi airport/railway station. Trip ends.
