Day-by-day itinerary
Day 1Depart Delhi or Chandigarh around 20:00–21:00 by Volvo, shared transfer or private vehicle for the overnight journey to Manali; guests starting in Manali join on Day 2. Carry cash for remote sections.
Day 2Arrive in Manali, check in and rest or explore Hadimba Temple, Old Manali, Vashisht or Mall Road; attend briefing on route, vehicle, luggage and safety. Road access may change. Meal plan is as booked.
Day 3Drive via Atal Tunnel, Sissu, Keylong, Jispa and Darcha; cross Shinku La, stop at Gonbo Rangjon and continue to the overnight stay near Purne or Kargyak. Road access may change. Stops follow daylight.
Day 4Drive to the Phugtal trailhead, walk 1–2 hours to the cave monastery, return on foot, then continue by vehicle to Padum for dinner and overnight. Weather can alter timing. The driver sets a safe pace.
Day 5Explore Padum; drive to Pensi La for a Drang Drung Glacier viewpoint if open, with Rangdum or Sani only if time allows; return to Padum. Road access may change. The return transfer depends on package.
Day 6Visit Karsha, Stongdey, Zangla Palace, Sani or Sheela Waterfall as time allows; drive back over Shinku La and via Darcha to Jispa or Keylong. Passes open only when safe. Manali starters join on Day 2.
Day 7From Jispa, see Deepak Tal, Suraj Tal and Baralacha La if accessible; return through Atal Tunnel to Manali, then continue overnight to Delhi/Chandigarh or end in Manali. Manali starters join on Day 2.
Day 8Arrive in Delhi or Chandigarh in the morning after the overnight transfer; Manali-start guests finish in Manali on Day 7. This closes the eight-day private Zanskar circuit. Passes open only when safe.
