Day-by-day itinerary
Day 1Evening pickup in Delhi on Thursday (around 8 PM). Board the overnight Volvo to Shimla with warm layers in a small handy bag. Overnight journey.
Day 2Reach Shimla in the morning, check in and rest. Stroll the Mall Road and Ridge at your own pace to recover before the mountains. Dinner & overnight in Shimla.
Day 3Drive ~225 km via Kufri, Narkanda, Rampur, Kinnaur Gate & Karcham to Sangla in the Baspa valley. Dinner & overnight in Sangla.
Day 4Full day in the Baspa valley: Rakcham and Chitkul, India's last village (road permitting), with time to enjoy the snow. Dinner & overnight in Sangla.
Day 5Drive ~190 km via Reckong Peo, Khab confluence, the Ka Loops and Nako to Tabo, home to the ancient Tabo Monastery. Dinner & overnight in Tabo.
Day 6Short ~50 km drive via Sichling, Dhankar Monastery and Lingti to Kaza. Easy afternoon to acclimatise. Dinner & overnight in Kaza.
Day 7High village circuit (weather permitting): Key Monastery, Kibber, Chicham Bridge, Langza, Komic & Hikkim's world-highest post office. Dinner & overnight in Kaza.
Day 8Drive ~180 km via Lingti, Sichling, Tabo, Sumdo, the Ka Loops and Reckong Peo to Kalpa, facing the Kinner Kailash range. Dinner & overnight in Kalpa.
Day 9Morning walk in Kalpa, then drive ~240 km via Reckong Peo, Rampur and Narkanda to Shimla. Board the overnight Volvo to Delhi.
Day 10Arrive in Delhi in the morning. Trip ends with memories of winter Kinnaur and Spiti.
