Day-by-day itinerary
Day 1Evening pickup in Delhi (8-9 PM). Board the overnight Volvo to Shimla. Keep warm layers and essentials in a small handy bag. Overnight journey.
Day 2Reach Shimla, freshen up & board mountain vehicle. Drive ~225 km via Kufri, Narkanda, Rampur, Kinnaur Gate & Karcham to Sangla in Baspa valley. Dinner & overnight in Sangla.
Day 3Visit Rakcham & Chitkul (road permitting), then drive ~190 km via Reckong Peo, Khab confluence & the Ka Loops to Nako (3,600 m+). Easy evening, dinner & overnight in Nako.
Day 4Drive ~110 km via Chango, Sumdo, Tabo Monastery & Dhankar (road permitting) to Kaza. Keep the evening light to acclimatise. Dinner & overnight in Kaza.
Day 5High village circuit (~90 km, weather-led): Key Monastery, Kibber, Chicham Bridge, Langza, Komic & Hikkim, home of the world's highest post office. Dinner & overnight in Kaza.
Day 6Drive ~200 km from Kaza via Sichling, Tabo, Sumdo, Khab & the Ka Loops back into Kinnaur to Kalpa, facing the Kinner Kailash range. Dinner & overnight in Kalpa.
Day 7Morning walk in Kalpa with Kinner Kailash views, then drive ~240 km via Reckong Peo, Rampur & Narkanda to Shimla. Board the overnight Volvo to Delhi.
Day 8Arrive in Delhi in the morning. Trip ends with memories of winter Kinnaur & Spiti.
