It is the site of the Hanuman Dhoka Palace Complex, the Royal Nepalese residence until the 19th century and an important spot for all ceremonies, such as the coronation of the Nepalese monarch. Further you’ll visit the Kumari Chowk - one of the most curious attractions in Nepal. This gilded cage contains the Raj Kumari, a young girl chosen through an ancient and religious process to become the human incarnation of the Goddess Durga. This young girl is worshiped during religious festivals and even makes public appearances at other times for a fee paid to her guards. Take a halt for much-needed lunch and explore the local markets, check-out interesting handicrafts and do some shopping here. Overnight stay at a hotel in Kathmandu.

Further you’ll visit the holiest shrine for Buddhist culture in Nepal - Boudhanath, widely popular for its large stupa. The stupa looks like a Mandala and is typically in Nepali architecture with Tibetan influence. This area is home to many Tibetan refugees living around and monasteries. Overnight stay at a hotel in Kathmandu.
