The best way is to take a train (Ranikhet Express or Sampark Kranti) from Delhi to Ramnagar railway station, which is just 15 mins from the park. Alternatively, you can drive from Delhi (5-6 hours via Moradabad). The nearest airport is Pantnagar (2 hours away), but flights are limited.

Which safari zone is the best for tiger sightings?

Dhikala is the most famous and has the best landscapes, followed closely by Bijrani. However, tigers roam freely, and sightings are a matter of luck in any zone.

How do I book a safari?

ONLY use the official government website: corbettonline.uk.gov.in. Bookings open 45 days in advance at exactly 10:00 AM and sell out in minutes. Do not trust private tour operators offering 'guaranteed' bookings.

Can I take my own car inside the national park?

No. You can only enter the core safari zones in registered open-top Maruti Gypsies or government Canters (buses) with an official guide.

Are tigers guaranteed?

Absolutely not. This is a massive, dense forest, not a zoo. Go for the overall jungle experience; the tiger is just a bonus.

Is it safe for infants or pregnant women?

Resort stays are fine, but Gypsy safaris are extremely bumpy, dusty, and lack toilets. It is generally not recommended for infants or pregnant women.

Is alcohol allowed inside the park?

Alcohol is strictly prohibited inside the national park and during safaris. You can drink at your private resort in Ramnagar outside the park gates.

Are night safaris allowed in Corbett?

No, night safaris are illegal inside Jim Corbett National Park. Anyone offering one is either scamming you or taking you to a buffer forest outside the park limits.
